The ASM process was also used in the context of the EIT Climate-KIC Deep Demonstration “Forging Resilience Regions” project – an initiative aimed at supporting European regions in their transformation to net-zero emissions and climate-resilient future. A workshop based on a combination of CoSMoS and elements of policy simulations (another one of our tools) was organised for stakeholders in Andalusia, Spain. The event was run online using Miro (an online whiteboard and visual collaboration tool).
Andalusia and its residents face important developmental and environmental challenges due to climate change. The main objective of the workshop was therefore to identify challenges, impacts, and vulnerabilities, as well as the resilient elements and solutions present in the Andalusian provinces. Our methodology allowed participants to spatially map the key elements of the existing system, followed by representations of causal chains and feedback loops identified in the system.
